SEVEN is a thoroughbred musician - idiosyncratic in the best sense and incredibly creative. The debut of the Swiss, "Dedicated to ...", sorted 2002 most under "international" - and in seventeen years of career including ten studio albums, two compilations, four live albums, over 1000 headliner shows and countless collaborations, the 'Soultrain' has never stopped again.
In the beginning was his reputation as a gifted live musician. Two years later "SEVENsoul" already entered the Swiss charts and after Destiny's Child in 2002, Lionel Richie also insisted on SEVEN as an opener. The third LP "Lovejam" entered the Top 10 and sent the man from Aargau to the USA. He was the first European ever to open the Sundance Festival and the country deeply influenced his album "Home". In the studios of idols like Commissioner Gordon (Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse) and James Poyser (Erykah Badu, The Roots), his attitude to music was changed forever - he learned from role models and at the same time felt that he didn't need to hide behind them.
Back in Europe, he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and played with Eric Leeds, ex-member of the Prince band, among others. "Home" reported gold and "Like A Rocket" went to #2 with features from Omar and Beverley Knight to also go gold after a week. Despite the superlatives, SEVEN followed through with the sold-out "Unplugged" theater tour before releasing a first listen for Germany with the work show "Focused." At the same time, SEVEN plunged into his anniversary: "The Art Is King" caused glowing reviews in 2012 and with over 30,000 tickets sold, he had reached the top. "BackFunkLoveSoul," a tribute to his first love funk & soul, ushered in a series of firsts with a chart #1: The Fantastischen Vier secured a Swiss support for the first time, each of the shows ended with an encore and the rap pros signed him as the first singer ever for their single .
At a show of the Söhne Mannheims, SEVEN was spontaneously brought on stage and Xavier Naidoo invited him directly on the spot as the first Swiss musician in the third season of "Sing meinen Song - das Tauschkonzert". Directly after the 2016 broadcast, he conquered the German festival summer with "Best of 2002- 2016" and went on his own club tour through Germany and Austria. Over 22,000 spectators celebrated the mix of confidence, skill and joy of playing that characterizes SEVEN's long-standing live band. After the tour with the F4, he was honored with the "Swiss Music Artist Award" in 2017, whose jury consists of musicians from the Swiss scene and was particularly touching for the then 38-year-old.
The same year saw the release of "4COLORS", a concept album with high-profile features from Thomas D., the Arts Smyphonic Orchestra London, Kool Savas and Nico Suave, before the "Soulmate Tour" 2019, SEVEN's first concert series without a current album, once again lived up to his reputation as a restless innovator: his band and he took on the challenge of having a different live guest with them every night, and with colleagues such as Michael Patrick Kelly, Laith Al- Deen, Flo Mega, Stefanie Heinzmann, Gregor Meyle, Wolfgang Niedecken and Mieze Katz, they provided cause for standing ovations everywhere. With "Brandneu", which will be released in early 2020, SEVEN releases his own German-language songs for the first time: the 'half album' brings five new songs and four bonus tracks (including two live versions of the "Soulmate Tour"), while at the same time he can be seen as the host of the new series "Sing meinen Song - das Schweizer Tauschkonzert" and subsequently went on "Brandneu Tour" with a six-piece band.
This tour project was forbidden by Corona and therefore the dates were postponed. With the newly won time and with a lot of creativity and muse, SEVEN created his latest work - the album "ICH BIN MIR SICHER! (2022). The album title probably implies on the one hand the continuation of the journey dangerously close to oneself and on the other hand also the adherence to the German pen.
All of the new 17 tracks are in German because the themes that stir the musician and force him to sing them all fall in German. The work is probably the most direct pop-soul album SEVEN had ever created. The tour started at the same time and took the band through Switzerland with 10 show dates. In spring 2022 SEVEN was back as host of the show "Sing meinen Song - das Schweizer Tauschkonzert" the 3rd season, after the 2nd season 2021 achieved dream ratings. The year 2022 closed a loop in the SEVEN cosmos: 20 years of solo career were celebrated! And what better way to celebrate than with your fans on the stages of this world? Exactly, finally concerts will be played again, both in Switzerland and in Germany, where the artist was sorely missed by his fans. The tour in autumn 2022 - a liberating blow.
The prospects for 2023 are nice - the 4th season of "Sing meinen Song - das Schweizer Tauschkonzert" flickers across the screens and gains even more audience. Seven is the host of the show for the last time and he could enjoy the season again from A to Z, because the change of host is part of the concept of the TV show. In addition, the popular host was given a fitting farewell and leaves behind many fond memories.
