New Song "Vollkommen leer"

Jan had the idea for such a track in the studio in Berlin with Kilian & Jo and tinkered with it for a few days. A cryptic and slightly dadaistic text that has a very clear message despite its confusing structure. We fill up until everything is completely empty and overlook the fact that everything was already there before we didn't get our fill.

An allusion to 1999 and a party song that celebrates the last and greatest lightness of being at the moment of the apocalypse, and thus possibly saves the world. The lyrics were there and Jan was clear. It's time for the legend Toni-L. ‘I thought it would be such a blast if someone rapped on this song like Toni-L, but A nobody does that anymore and B nobody could ever really do it like him.’ So I messaged him on Insta, sent him the song and he replied straight away.’

The two had also crossed paths in the basements of early hip hop but never exchanged ideas. Toni came to one of Jan's concerts on his big tour of Germany a few weeks later and they spoke at length for the first time backstage. Afterwards they went into the studio in Berlin and the song was then produced in Switzerland by Jan and Massimo Buonanno and also mixed by Massimo. A homage and a celebration of oldskool and the explosive marriage of rap, funk and soul. The soul man and the funk joker on one track!

Vollkommen leer will be released on 30.8.2024. The album ‘Schwarz auf Grün’ will be released at the start of the tour on 13.09.2024 in Zurich.
